“Foluke Daramola Speaks: Why I Am Committed to Culture, Advocacy and Real Change”
Nollywood Icon – Foluke Daramola
My name is Foluke Daramola, and everything I have become today is rooted in purpose.
For me, acting has never been just about being on screen. It has always been about telling stories that matter — stories that reflect who we are, where we come from, and what we stand for as a people.
Over the years, I have seen Nollywood grow, evolve, and reach global audiences. It is something I am proud of. But even as we grow, I believe strongly that we must not lose our identity. Our culture, our language, and our traditions are the foundation of our stories, and they deserve to be preserved.
This belief is what continues to guide my work.
Every role I take, every project I produce, and every story I tell is intentional. I want people to see truth in what I do. I want them to feel something real. Because at the end of the day, storytelling is powerful — it shapes minds, influences perspectives, and leaves lasting impact.
Beyond the screen, my journey has also led me into advocacy.

Through my work and my foundation, I have come face-to-face with realities that cannot be ignored — the struggles of vulnerable individuals, the need to protect women and young girls, and the importance of using one’s voice for something greater.
This is not something I take lightly.
I believe that influence is a responsibility. If people listen to you, then you must speak with purpose. If people watch you, then you must represent something meaningful.
Today, my vision goes beyond entertainment. It is about impact. Service. Contributing to a better society in every way I can.
I am still evolving, still learning, and still committed to doing more.
Because for me, this journey is not just about success — it is about legacy.
